SPOTLIGHT PROFILE

The Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Scotland serves as a collaborative platform between the Scottish Government and civil society organisations. Its primary role is to oversee the development and implementation of Scotland’s Open Government National Action Plan, which aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and public participation in governance.​

Act with Purpose is an active member of the Open Government Partnership in Scotland — supporting the participation commitment and the Steering Group.

FIRST MINISTER’S INITIATIVE ON DEMOCRACY AND RESPECT

It was a privilege to join the First Minister’s Summit on Democracy – a gathering of changemakers, community leaders and public servants committed to strengthening trust in government.

The event brought forward a host of inspiring voices and bold ideas. Act with Purpose was proud to contribute. Trust isn’t built through rhetoric – it starts with real accountability, active civic engagement, and meaningful participation.

But now, the challenge is translating principle into practice. Community involvement must go beyond consultation and be embedded at every level of government – from national to local, policy to frontline service.
